Appropriate technology in ophthalmology

An ITIR Publication

Intermediate Technology Information Ring (ITIR), started in 1980 by Prof Dr Jan G F Worst, sought to inform eye health workers, by means of regular newsletters, of the availability of cost-effective materials.

The newsletters were published in book form in 1988 but the publication went out of print. We are pleased to announce that selected newsletters have now been reproduced in a second publication. This 86 page book, intended to inspire those who are required to adapt their knowledge and skills under most adverse conditions, covers the following topics:

The techniques recommended in the text are clearly illustrated by black and white line drawings. The publication also includes a useful address list of organisations and companies from which materials and equipment can be obtained, and a reference bibliography.

This review is long overdue, for which we apologise, but have no hesitation in commending this book to our readers.
