Review
This valuable 13 minute videotape covers the following aspects of surgical instrument maintenance:
- cleaning
- removal of rust
- sharpening
- repair of the tips of broken
forceps and how to convert
these into grooved forceps - repair of needleholders
The narration, in English, is slightly accented but clear and easy to understand
with appropriate
emphases. Photography is of excellent definition and sequencing has good
and relevant close-ups. A text with drawings is provided to accompany the
video. The subject coverage could be enhanced by inclusion of other important
aspects of care of instruments, such as handling, lubrication, storage and
transportation.
