Information for authors
All the information you will need when writing for the journal, either as a commissioned author or as a someone submitting a brief report, research abstract or letter for our Exchange section. Guidelines for Exchange articlesWriting for the Exchange supplement tutorial PDF (120Kb) The aim the Exchange section of the journal is to provide our readers with an opportunity to share their experiences and to learn from the experiences of others. Authors are invited to submit brief reports, research abstracts or letters (no more than 500 words) on topics related to community eye health and prevention of blindness. We welcome original contributions from health workers who provide eye care at the primary, secondary and tertiary levels, from planners and managers of eye care programmes, and from researchers. Examples of reports include outstanding achievements of eye care programmes, interesting insights from eye care work, and summaries of research projects. Articles written in a practical, straightforward style that is easy to understand will receive preference. The address for submissions is: admin@cehjournal.org All submissions are sent for review before being accepted for publication in the journal. Successful articles are published in an online supplement to the journal, on www.cehjournal.org. Articles in the online supplement, as those in the rest of the journal, are indexed in PubMed. Our reviewers use the following guidelines:
Articles should be written in simple English with consideration for the broad readership, many of whom have English as a second language. Support will be provided for authors whose first language may not be English. No article will be declined on the basis of writing style alone. Figures, tables and other graphic material are welcomed. Authors are expected to have obtained necessary agreement from publishers of previously published work as well as ethical permissions for the use of photographs (see Patient consent to use images). Submissions should preferably be made in digital format, but hard copy is also accepted. Full name of authors, qualifications, affiliation and address must be provided, as well as credits for any photographs or illustrations. |
