International Council of Ophthalmology International Basic Science Assessment for Ophthalmologists
A test of knowledge of the Basic Science related to Ophthalmology will be held on 25 March 1999
The test will consist of a single three hour multiple choice question paper consisting of two parts marked separately
Part I Anatomy, Physiology, Pathology, Pharmacology
Part II Optics, Refraction
The test will be conducted in the candidate’s own country
The closing date for applications is: 11 January 1999
Those who achieve pass standard or above will receive a certificate confirming the standard achieved. This certificate is now accepted as equivalent to the basic science sections of the ophthalmology examinations of several countries.
