International Ophthalmic Nurses’ Association (IONA) launched

Ophthalmic nursing associations from around the globe have come together to form an international body: the International Ophthalmic Nurses’ Association (IONA) which will promote the development and impact of this essential profession by, for example, representing ophthalmic nurses at international level and supporting ophthalmic nurses to enhance their practice and skills.

Twelve ophthalmic nursing professional associations from sub-Saharan Africa, East Asia Pacific, Europe, North America, Latin America and the Caribbean have already joined and their members are encouraged to contact their professional association for details.
